Every GAUTHIER timepiece comes with a one-year mechanical warranty starting from the date of delivery. We ensure all watches are in excellent working condition and are ready for daily wear. They have been fully serviced by our team of expert watchmakers or inspected for recent skilled service.

We offer complimentary insured shipping within all 50 U.S. states on every watch purchase.

Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

The Kingmatic line belongs to one of the more interesting chapters in Movado's history. Long before the brand became shorthand for the Museum dial, the company was a serious Swiss maker with a deep catalogue of refined mechanical watches. The Kingmatic name, introduced for Movado’s full-rotor automatics, sat at the meeting point of practical engineering and elegant daily wear.

This 1970s Kingmatic “S” Sub Sea captures that balance well. It is not a large watch, and it is better for it. The stainless steel slightly-oblong case measures 34mm across, with a 40mm lug-to-lug profile and a slim 9.6mm thickness, giving it the clean, close-wearing feel of a well-made period automatic. The subtly elliptical shape has just enough distinctiveness to feel considered without calling overt attention.

The silver dial's brushed surface, faceted bar markers, and small lume plots give it a quiet rhythm, while the framed date window at three o’clock adds everyday usefulness without disturbing the composition. The baton hands are silver-colored with luminous inserts, matched by a slender central seconds hand. The result is direct and legible, casual and yet dressy enough to feel at home under a cuff.

Condition is a meaningful part of the appeal here. The case, acrylic crystal, and original dial are superb, with an original caseback sticker still mostly intact. It is a handsome and historically grounded Movado from a period when the brand’s mechanical watches still had real substance and unexpected styling.
