Case:
The watch is in excellent vintage condition with very little wear. There are some light scuffs, some hairline scratches, and light pitting distributed throughout the case

Crystal:
The crystal is in excellent condition.

The heavily patinated dial is in good vintage condition.

Movement:
The fully-serviced manual-winding calibre by Omega is in excellent condition.

Bracelet:
The black suede strap is aftermarket with a genuine gold-plated Omega buckle.

Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

This watch comes out of a very interesting moment in Omega’s history. The early 1960s were a transitional period for the brand, coming off its strong post-war momentum and on the way toward the space age that would define the latter half of the decade. While icons like the Speedmaster and Seamaster were finding their identities, Omega was also producing a range of elegant, subtle dress watches that showcased its mastery of design and finishing. Watches from around 1961 capture that balance between classical proportions and emerging modern sensibilities. The case shapes and dial textures of this era were often experimental in their own quiet way, a response to shifting tastes and the broader evolution of Swiss watchmaking in the early 60s.

The case on this particular piece is a study in restrained personality. The hooded lugs give it a fluid presence on the wrist, a feeling of the case extending into the strap rather than sitting awkwardly on top of it. In many vintage Omegas from this period you see more straightforward lug profiles; here the design feels slightly more purposeful without ever calling attention to itself. The textured silver dial catches light beautifully and has aged with a patina that speaks to its life rather than detracts from it. The contrast between the light silver surface and the applied markers gives the dial a layered quality that you don’t always see on watches from this era.
