The watch is in excellent vintage condition with very little wear. There are some light scuffs, some hairline scratches, and some examples of very light pitting distributed throughout the case. The crown is a possible service/replacement.

The crystal is in excellent condition.

The patinated dial is in good vintage condition.

Movement:
The fully-serviced manual-winding calibre by Omega is in excellent condition.

Bracelet:
The brown genuine leather strap is aftermarket with a genuine gold-plated Omega buckle.

In the early 1960s Omega was defining what elegance looked like on the wrist. While most of the attention today falls on the brand’s sport and chronograph watches from this era, the quiet refinement of their dress watches for women speaks to a very different chapter in their history. Around 1961 Omega was producing a wide range of manual-wind calibers and case styles, balancing rich materials with thoughtful design in smaller proportions, and this watch exemplifies that. It is not part of a famous numbered reference like a Seamaster or a Speedmaster, but it belongs to that generation when Omega’s craftsmanship was just as careful in its gold cocktail and dress watches as in their tool watches.

This particular example is housed in solid 18k yellow gold with what collectors sometimes refer to as hooded lugs. Those lugs flow into the case so the strap meets the case without interrupting the circle of the bezel, a detail that feels purposeful and seamless rather than purely decorative. The case is petite by modern standards, closer to 15.5 millimeters in diameter, and it wears with a delicacy that women’s watches of the period were known for. The softly textured waffle pattern of the silver patinated dial gives the face depth and presence without feeling loud. Applied gold-tone bar markers and simple sword-style hands keep the layout clean and legible.

Inside, the manually wound Caliber 580 was a dependable movement Omega used broadly in their smaller watches at this time.
