Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

In the 1960s, Omega was not only making the Speedmaster, Seamaster, and Constellation watches that tend to dominate the conversation today. The brand was also producing a wide range of small, beautifully considered dress watches for men and women that reflected the period’s appetite for clean design, precious metal cases, and clever case construction. This backwind example sits squarely in that world. By moving the winding crown to the back of the watch, Omega preserved the purity of the case profile, giving the watch a sculptural, jewelry-like presence on the wrist.

The case is the real point of interest here. Made in solid 18k yellow gold, it is a gorgeous expression of mid-century design, with a sloping form that evokes the copper helmet of the earliest standard diving dress suits. The side view is an absolute must-see, showing off a rounded, almost shell-like profile that gives the watch far more personality than its dimensions suggest. At just 15mm across and 22mm lug to lug, this is a very small watch, but it has real visual presence.

The original silver Omega dial keeps the design restrained and balanced, with gold-colored sword hands and applied bar markers that sit neatly against the warm tone of the case. Inside is a fully serviced manual-winding Omega calibre, accessed and wound from the caseback in keeping with the backwind design. The watch is paired with a black leather strap and Omega buckle, a simple and appropriate finish for a little solid 18k gold back-winding gem that feels as much like a design object as it does a timekeeper.
