Every GAUTHIER timepiece comes with a one-year mechanical warranty starting from the date of delivery. We ensure all watches are in excellent working condition and are ready for daily wear. They have been fully serviced by our team of expert watchmakers or inspected for recent skilled service.

We offer complimentary insured shipping within all 50 U.S. states on every watch purchase.

Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

By the middle of the twentieth century, Movado had established itself as one of Switzerland’s more accomplished integrated manufactures, producing sophisticated movements and watches that ranged from refined dress pieces to increasingly purposeful sporting designs. Among the latter was the Sub-Sea family, introduced during the 1960s as Movado embraced the growing demand for robust, water-resistant wristwatches. The name is perhaps best remembered today through the brand’s celebrated Sub-Sea chronographs, some of which paired Movado’s in-house chronograph calibres with water-resistant cases produced by the respected specialist Taubert & Fils. As the decade progressed, the Sub-Sea range grew increasingly varied and sporty, eventually encompassing a number of chronograph and diving-oriented executions.

This time-only Sub-Sea offers a more restrained interpretation of that same philosophy. Rather than relying on a rotating bezel, oversized case or overtly technical dial, it combines the practical character associated with the collection with the proportions and detailing of a classic mid-century dress watch.

The original silver dial has developed an attractive creamy patina, softening its surface without obscuring the clarity of the design. Applied faceted arrow markers are joined by Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, and silver dauphine hands complete the composition. There is a pleasing economy to the dial, with just enough geometry and contrast to give it character while remaining unmistakably understated.
