Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

The Breitling Top Time was introduced in 1964 as a deliberately youthful, design-forward chronograph within the brand’s otherwise technical lineup. It was a watch meant to meet the moment, less about aviation instrumentation and more about style, speed, and everyday wear. The reference 2008 paired an accessible chronograph movement with increasingly expressive dial layouts. This example sits close to the cultural peak of the model, seen on the wrist of James Bond in Thunderball, which quietly cemented its place in the broader story of mid-century design.

It is a straightforward, manually-wound chronograph, that leans heavily on proportion and dial execution for its appeal. The cushion case is closer to the thick tonneau worn by Bond, but infinitely more wearable. It is a shape that feels very much of its time, yet not dated, and it gives the watch a quiet and comfortable presence rather than overt sharpness. Although more commonly seen with with a yellow gold-plated bezel, this white gold plated example is more rare and desireable.

The black dial with its contrasting silver sub-registers is where the watch really asserts itself. The so-called reverse panda configuration is crisp without being stark, and the layout is disciplined, with evenly spaced registers and restrained printing. There is a clarity to the design that suggests purpose, but also an awareness of aesthetics that goes beyond pure function. The slim baton hands keep the visual weight centered. Over time, subtle aging in the dial and hands often adds warmth, softening what would otherwise be a high-contrast, almost graphic composition.
