Case:
This example features symmetrical lugs and is in excellent vintage condition. It has been expertly cleaned by one of our technicians, and was not polished by us, but was likely lightly polished in the past. There are some light hairline scratches, pitting, and normal-to-light wear distributed evenly throughout the case.

Dial:
The rare black waffle dial is in good original condition with some light spotting and patches of discoloration.

Movement:
The fully-serviced manual-wind calibre by Omega is in excellent condition.

Bracelet:
This watch comes on a matte black genuine leather 18mm Gauthier strap.

Introduced in the early 1950s, the Omega Seamaster Ref. 2577 occupies a pivotal place in the brand’s post-war history. Launched at a time when Omega was refining its identity around durability, elegance, and technical progress, the 2577 was among the earliest Seamasters to house the brand’s automatic “bumper” movement. These watches were conceived as refined daily companions that would be robust enough for modern life, yet restrained and elegant in their execution.

The stainless steel case is classically proportioned, with softly contoured lugs and a smooth, polished bezel that frames the dial without excess. Its mid-century geometry feels purposeful and honest, designed to sit comfortably on the wrist while maintaining a strong visual presence. The dial is the undeniable focal point: a rare black waffle texture that adds depth and warmth, subtly catching the light without sacrificing legibility. Gilt applied Arabic numerals at the quarters and faceted arrowhead markers create a dynamic rhythm, while the printed minute track anchors the design. Signed “Omega Automatic” beneath the applied logo and finished with the flowing Seamaster script, the dial perfectly captures the brand’s understated confidence.

Complementing the dial are elegant dauphine hands which echo the angularity of the hour markers.
