Case:
This example features symmetrical lugs and is in excellent vintage condition. It has been expertly cleaned by one of our technicians, and was not polished by us, but was likely lightly polished in the past. There are some light hairline scratches on the back of the case and normal-to-light wear distributed evenly throughout the case.

Dial:
The original silver dial is crisp with some degredation of lume.

Movement:
The fully-serviced manual-wind calibre by Longines is in excellent condition.

Bracelet:
This watch comes on a black genuine leather 18mm Gauthier strap.

Introduced in the early post-war years, the Longines “Sei Tacche” occupies an important place in the brand’s history. The case style emerged at a moment when Swiss watchmaking moved away from delicate pre-war constructions toward cases that could better withstand daily life. Its nickname, “Sei Tacche” (Italian for “six notches”), refers to the distinctive six-notch screw-down caseback, a technical detail that underscored Longines’ commitment to improved water resistance while maintaining classical proportions. By 1951, this balance of utility and refinement had become a signature of the manufacture, and the Sei Tacche stands today as one of the most emblematic expressions of that era.

The stainless steel case is restrained yet purposeful, with long, sculpted lugs that flow seamlessly from the mid-case and give the watch a strong wrist presence without excess thickness. The surfaces remain crisp, showing only very minor wear consistent with careful use. A domed crystal frames the silver dial laid out with alternating Arabic numerals and triangular arrow markers which lend depth and rhythm. The recessed sub-seconds register at six o’clock adds a note of traditional watchmaking symmetry. The dial’s preservation is particularly noteworthy, retaining clarity and warmth.

Completing the composition are the original gold-tone dauphine hands. In excellent condition overall, this 1951 Longines Sei Tacche is historically significant, technically thoughtful, and effortlessly elegant, much in the spirit that continues to define the best of vintage Longines today.
