Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

Few manufactures are as closely associated with the golden age of military and purpose-built wristwatches as Longines. During the 1930s and 1940s, the manufacture produced some of its most compelling designs, combining robust cases, highly legible dials and exceptional manually wound movements. This example, dating to 1942, captures that utilitarian philosophy particularly well, while retaining the elegant proportions that distinguish Longines watches of the period.

The stainless-steel case measures 33.5mm across and is defined by a pronounced stepped construction, giving the watch considerably more architectural presence than its dimensions might initially suggest. It features the so-called “Sei Tacche” caseback, named for the six notches used to secure and remove it. This form of case construction is closely associated with some of the most desirable early Longines wristwatches and speaks to the practical, robust character of the design.

The black dial's painted Arabic numerals alternate with luminous dot markers, creating a highly legible layout that feels unmistakably military in character. A slender outer minute track frames the dial, while pointed blued-steel baton hands provide a subtle flash of color against the dark surface.

More than anything, this Longines appeals for the clarity of its design. Created during the Second World War, it belongs to an era when the wristwatch was increasingly treated as an instrument rather than simply an accessory. Yet the refinement of the stepped case, blued hands and balanced dial prevents it from ever feeling purely utilitarian. It is a compelling example of wartime Longines design, combining purpose, proportion and unmistakable vintage character.
