Timepieces are packed in our Los Angeles showroom, and then shipped with fully-insured 1 or 2-Day shipping via FedEx within 5 business days of purchase. An adult signature is required upon delivery to ensure coverage. Expedited shipping options are available for an additional fee. For clients in Los Angeles, we’re pleased to offer in-person delivery or showroom pickup by appointment.

Returns must be shipped via overnight or priority international service, fully insured, and at the buyer’s expense. A label will be provided and a restocking fee may apply. All returns must be received in the original condition as when shipped.

In the 1940s, Tiffany & Co. occupied a distinctive position in watchmaking. The firm did not manufacture movements itself, instead commissioning leading Swiss houses to produce watches signed for its Fifth Avenue clientele. This period, shaped by wartime constraints and a growing taste for practicality, saw Tiffany lean into robust, purpose-driven designs. Cases supplied by specialists such as François Borgel became especially relevant. Borgel’s screw-back construction, developed in the early 20th century and widely adopted during World War I for its resistance to dust and moisture, carried forward into the 1940s as a mark of durability and technical credibility.

This reference 18625 sits squarely in that lineage. Though signed by Tiffany, the watch is powered by a manual-wind calibre from Movado, a reminder of the collaboration between retailer and maker that defined the era. The Borgel case is modest in diameter at 32mm, but its "stepped" case wears with more presence than numbers suggest.

Silvered and gently aged, the dial carries a mix of Roman numerals, applied markers, and arrow indices that feel almost improvisational, yet balanced. There is a lightness to the typography that keeps it from feeling overtly military, even as the red-tipped arrow sweep seconds hand introduces a note of urgency. It is a small detail, but it gives the watch its personality. The patina has settled evenly, adding warmth without obscuring the original layout, and the alpha-style hands retain their sharpness against the dial’s surface.
